1.Executive - External Sales Support - Maersk Line, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Job Overview

* To support paired Outdoor Sales deliver increased volume and yield in handling their shared client portfolio
* To engage with the customer on an ongoing basis to ensure successful relationship maintenance and to identify new opportunities through ongoing customer dialogue through frequent phone/email communication
* To monitor performance against KPI and take corrective action where necessary

Key Responsibilities

* Build effective relationship with own and shared client base at relevant levels of the client organisation
* To identify new opportunities through ongoing customer dialogue
* Pass on leads from non-controlled customers to contractual customer holder and collaborate with other clusters on lead generation
* Actively participate in sales campaigns and promotions
* Support your paired Outdoor Sales in identifying, creating and closing business opportunities as well as securing and maintaining targeted business in specific market segments.
* Register in Insight, our CRM tool, customer related activities/opportunities
* Proactive follow up on quotations, customers and sales related activities
* Assist with processing price quotes and rate negotiations
* Handle existing customer requests in coordination with your paired Outdoor Sales
* Keeping records of all opportunities and activities relating to their customers in Insight
* To assist management of the sales pipeline process using Insight
* Gathers market research and competitive intelligence to supply Trade & Marketing department
* To act as trade/commodity/segment/etc focal as per Leader’s discretion

2. Executive, Account Development (AD) for Inside Sales - Maersk Line, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Purpose/Summary:

You will be managing all irregular, spot, lost and new customers, characterized by being all the customers without a sales man code assigned to them. Your sales efforts will primarily be via email and phone and customer visits to be avoided if commercially possible.
As a secondary role and in view of efficiencies that we may be able to gain (should the Inside Sales Channel Manager allocates), your account base may also include small to medium sized non-controlled accounts, which has been decided to be served via the Inside Sales setup in your country.
Your account base will be build around industry or commodity, and in some cases geography.
On top of above, you will also be responsible on Agency management (namely our 3rd party agents in East Malaysia, Brunei, and Kuantan) from a sales perspective.

Key Responsibilities:
Your key tasks will be to do customer acquisitions and make irregular customers regular, and thus transfer them to the Inside Sales Account Management setup. One of your key sources for genuine opportunities will be from various marketing activities done by your marketing department.

You will be;
a) working closely with your local trade & marketing department and must be good at adjusting and give feedback about changes in your local competitive landscape and ensure that you have a value proposition that is compelling enough to allow you to win in your market place.
b) expected to be able to handle and make proactive customer calls (opportunities) per day, coming from following lists:
a) Opportunities from campaign activities
b) Opportunities from other sources
c) Retention and relationship maintenance, to ensure we call all controlled customers within your portfolio at least ones every quarter.

Your key task in managing your non-controlled accounts would be;
a) to ensure that your account base deliver upon the agreement made with the Account Manager at the controlling side (for non-controlled accounts)
b) ensuring that the volume is shipped at the most optimal way for Maersk Line, e.g. ensure carrier nomination, considering seasonality, limit variation, under-utilized services etc.

Your sales efforts will primarily be via phone and email, and not by customer visits (if can be avoided – however infrequent visits to non-controlled customers maybe permitted at the discretion and agreement of the Inside Sales Channel Manager/Cluster Sales Manager with justifiable reasons).

For those non-controlled accounts assigned as your base as part of your secondary role, you will be responsible for developing long term customer relations and that your customer base has a high satisfaction with Maersk Line and build loyalty.

On agency management, you will be responsible to attend to our agency sales force and ensure efficient, effective sales engagement with them. Notwithstanding organizing, leading, participating in monthly sales meeting with the agency sales force, maintaining cross functional SOP, driving agency sales performance, etc.

You will be managing predominantly all regular, small and medium size customers (for controlled basis) within your cluster who do either not require or justify an external sales executive. Your account base will also include very large non-controlled accounts (approx. 10-20,000 FFE in total), which has been decided to be served via the Inside Sales setup in your country.
Your account base will be build around industry or commodity, and in some cases geography.
